One of my family’s favorite things to do on the weekend is go out to lunch on the boat. There are a ton of restaurants on the water in North Florida, and surprisingly some are even boat accessible! If you happen to live in a navigable neighborhood such as Isle of Palms or Seven Pines Island, you can literally walk out your back door, hop on a boat, kayak, or paddleboard and float your way to salt air and delicious food.

Here are some of our favorite places with boat parking:

Safe Harbor- Minutes away from Beach Blvd with two different locations. Both are always very busy but worth the wait! (The Mayport location’s boat parking availability is subject to the presence of shrimp boats.)

Sandollar- Across the waterway from the Safe Harbor in Mayport. Hush puppies here are a must and the kids love to watch the Ferry go back and forth.

Blue Typhoon – Great brunch with a Bloody Mary bar!

Caps- North Florida classic. You may want to make a reservation because they fill up fast.

Aunt Kate’s- Love eating here under the live oaks.

Beaches at Vilano- We actually went to a wedding rehearsal dinner here! Fun atmosphere with its own beach. You can usually see porpoises under the bridge.

Outback Crab Shack- This is where you go when you’re super hungry and have a hankering for seafood. The platters are HUGE!

Conch House- Many a Reggae Sunday spent here! Fantastic food and eating in the bird nest style tiki huts is always fun.

As always, wear sunscreen while boating and if you indulge in an adult beverage, have a designated driver!
